Who We Are
We are a group of board gaming enthusiasts. When the group started, we met in person in Pittsburgh, PA, USA. Although we still meet in person, we also meet on-line (currently over Zoom) with members from all over the world, every Friday evening at 6pm (Eastern Time).
You can find our group on meetup.com here and join us there. That’s also where you’ll find all our scheduled meetings (upcoming and in the past).
About Our Name
The premier site for finding out about board games themselves is boardgamegeek.com. Since we are people (rather than games) and we wanted people to be able to easily remember how to find us, we called our meetup boardgaminggeeks.org.
About Online Gaming
Most of the games we play are available on BoardGameArena, which has more than 1000 different games available, and over 10 million registered players. That means that in order to join our meetup, you will need to create an account on boardgamearena.com (which we will ask you to tell us when you sign up for our meetup group).

While membership is open to everyone, we try to create an experience while playing on-line that is as similar as possible to playing in person. Currently, we use Zoom to run our on-line meetings, so everyone can see and talk to each other in real time in one window, while they are playing the (on-line) board game in another window. When groups of people play a game together, they go to a shared breakout room in Zoom, and then come back to the main room when they finish the game.
